Quick job start
If your Danish employer is certified to use the Fast-track Scheme, you are able to start your job in Denmark quicker.
The Fast-Track Scheme makes it quicker and easier for certified companies to employ foreign nationals with special qualifications in Denmark.
If you and your employer want you to start your job quickly, you can give your employer power of attorney to submit an application under the Fast-Track Scheme on your behalf. This requires that your employer is certified to use the Fast-Track Scheme.

If your employer is certified by SIRI and has applied for a residence and work permit under the Fast-Track Scheme on your behalf, there are two ways for you to get a quick job start. These depend on whether you can travel legally to Denmark:
- If you are exempt from the visa requirement or have a valid Schengen visa, you can enter Denmark legally.
- If you are required to have a visa, you cannot enter Denmark legally without an entry visa.

If you are exempt from the visa requirement or have a valid Schengen visa, and you therefore can enter Denmark legally, your employer must book an appointment for a meeting at SIRI so that you can get a preliminary work permit. Your employer will get the link to book a meeting when they complete the application on your behalf.
You cannot book an appointment for the meeting on newtodenmark.dk.
Remember to bring your passport and the receipt for the application to the meeting.
If you meet the conditions for a residence and work permit, you will get a preliminary permit to start working at the meeting.
If you are required to have a visa and cannot enter Denmark legally, you must appear in person at the nearest Danish diplomatic mission to have your biometric features recorded, no later than 14 days after you have sent the application.
If you meet the conditions for a residence and work permit, you will as a rule get a permit including an entry visa approximately 10 days after we have received the application.
