Exemption of frontier workers/cross-border workers
Citizens applying a document as frontier workers are exempt from the above application times. If you are a frontier worker, i.e. if you are working in Denmark but not living in Denmark, you are free to submit your application at any time during 2021.
Why is it important that I comply with the above application times?
It is very important that you comply with the indicated application schedule, in order for SIRI to comply with an expected two month case processing time.
Please note that your right to reside in Denmark is maintained during the process and until SIRI has finalised processing your application. Thus it has no consequences for your right to reside in Denmark whether you are to submit your application in the beginning or end of 2021.
Also, please note that you cannot submit your application before 1 January 2021 and that applications shall be submitted at the latest 31 December 2021. Applications submitted after 31 December 2021 will only be processed if SIRI deems that there are reasonable grounds for the failure to meet the deadline.
How do I submit my application?
You can submit your application using the digital application form which will be available on www.newtodenmark.dk from 1 January 2021. On the application, it will be possible to read more about which documentation you must include with your application and the procedure for recording biometrics in one of SIRI's citizen centres.
