New rules under the Authorisation Scheme – right to work
On 1 July 2024, new rules regarding foreigners with a residence permit under the Authorisation Scheme come into effect.
On 1 July 2024, the Danish Aliens Act is amended, which means that foreigners with a residence permit under the Authorisation Scheme are exempt from the work permit requirement.
All foreigners who are granted a residence permit under the Authorisation Scheme or who already have a valid residence permit under the Authorisation Scheme can therefore start working from 1 July 2024.
This means that you no longer need to apply for a separate work permit for employment for adaption and training purposes or other employment.
At the same time, several new changes come into effect, including a new authorisation scheme for specifically requested healthcare professionals. It will also be possible to extend the authorisation permit in certain cases if the applicant is in the process of or has been offered an employment for adaption and training purposes.
