New application form for sideline employment and work permit for accompanying family
On 13 February 2024, SIRI will make a new printable application form available which is tailored to those who wish to apply for a work permit for sideline employment, or wish to apply for a work permit as an accompanying family member because they have been offered a job within the same company as their sponsor.
The new form is called AR8. This form will replace the application forms AR1, AR3 and AR6/7, which have been used within the two previousley mentioned categories, up until now.
This means that you must now use the new application form AR8 when applying for a work permit (but not a residence permit) in Denmark if:
-
you have a residence and work permit based on a job with a certain employer, and you would like to take up an additional job as sideline employment, or if
-
you already have (or are currently applying for) a residence permit as an accompanying family member to a person who either works or is about to work in Denmark, and you need a work permit because you have been offered a job within the same company that your family member (the sponsor) works for, or at a company that has a close connection to the company where your sponsor works.
If you already have a work permit based on these two schemes, you can use the new AR8 form to apply for an extension of your work permit.
You can find the form on the relevant application pages under step 2, Complete the application, which is under the tab How to apply:
Apply for a work permit for sideline employment
Apply for a work permit as accompanying family
Apply for an extension of your work permit for sideline employment
Please note that you cannot use the AR8 form if you are a commuter. A commuter is a person who travels between Denmark and his or her country of residence in order to work. This means that you work in Denmark, but live abroad. Commuters must continue to use the application forms AR1, AR3 or AR6/7.
