Brexit: Remember! The deadline for submission of applications expires on 31 December 2023
British citizens and their family members covered by the Withdrawal Agreement between EU and the United Kingdom are reminded of the deadline for submissions of applications expiring at the end of 2023.
In spring, the deadline for submission of application for residence documents under the Withdrawal Agreement was extended to 31 December 2023. If you have not applied yet, please read the following information on how to apply and who is covered by the extended deadline.
How do I apply?
British citizens and their family members who do not already hold a residence document in Denmark under the Withdrawal Agreement must submit an application – SIRI is not going to send out individual information letters.
You can submit your application by following the procedure on the application page Brexit. There you can also read more about the conditions for having residence document under the Withdrawal Agreement and be guided through the application process.
If you previously have received a rejection to have your application processed by SIRI and the Immigration Appeals Board due to submitting the application too late, you can, based on the extended deadline, ask SIRI to have you case reopened. The same applies if you have not appealed the rejection to the Immigration Appeals Board.

Who is covered by the extended deadline?
It is a requirement that you meet the conditions for residence under the Withdrawal Agreement, including having had legal residence in accordance with the EU rules on free movement before 31 December 2020. The extended deadline does not change that.
Individuals who already have residence in Denmark under the Withdrawal Agreement should not apply again.
The extended deadline applies for individuals who have not previously submitted an application.
The extended deadline also applies to applicants who have submitted their applications after the original deadline expired on 31 December 2021 and therefore have received a rejection to have their application processed.
