Update as of 18 February 2020:
From 17 February 2020 onwards, the visa application centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen will partially re-open. The visa application centres will have reduced opening hours of 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and there will be strict admission requirements for entry.
For all other visa application centres in China, the announcement given on 6 February 2020 still applies.

Original announcement given on 6 February 2020:
Due to the outbreak of coronavirus in China the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark has decided to close the Visa Application Centres in China temporarily.
At the Danish representations and Visa Application Centres it is currently not possible to:
- submit applications for residence permits or short stay visas
- have biometric features recorded (the normal 2-week deadline has therefore been suspended)
- receive decisions
- be issued an entry visa to Denmark
It must be emphasized that receiving an application or issuing a residence permit or a visa to Denmark is not considered to be an urgent necesity. This will therefore not be handled unless quite extraordinary circumstances apply. As an example, receiving an application or issuing a residence permit for studies in Denmark is not an urgent necesity.
Chinese citizens in Denmark whose residence permits are about to expire or who have been given a deadline for leaving Denmark must still depart in compliance with the given deadline.
The same applies to Chinese citizens whose short stay visa has expired or is about to expire. If practical problems occur in relation to leaving Denmark, an application for extension of the short stay visa can be submitted. Read more about extension of short stay visa
SIRI and the Danish Immigration Service will continously monitor the situation regarding travel to and from China.
