About the web portal

Newtodenmark.dk's primary target group is foreign nationals who wish to reside in Danmark, or are already residing here, as well as their family members. The primary target group also includes third-parties (lawyers, relocation companies etc.) as well as employers and educational institutions where foreign nationals are employed or educated.

The secondary target group consists of partners from other public authorities (the police, municipal authorities, the Refugee Appeals Board, the Immigration Appeals Board etc.) and other partners (the Red Cross, the Danish Refugee Council etc.) as well as the press. Finally, there is a target group comprised of others with an interest in the area of immigration (students, politicians, NGOs etc.)

Please note that the information on newtodenmark.dk is a simplified and edited version of laws, rules and practices. The information is designed to provide a correct but easy-to-understand rendition of the rules governing the area of immigration. Consequently, the information on this portal is not an exhaustive description of the current rules.

For more in-depth information about the rules, please read the relevant legal sources under 'Legislation' where you can also find the relevant decision memorandums (some sources only available in Danish).

The rules governing the area of immigration are changed on a regular basis as a result of law changes or changes in practice. As the information on this portal must reflect the current laws, rules and practices, texts are also changed regularly. At the bottom of each content page you can see the date on which it was last updated.
