Apply for a residence permit as a person in Denmark displaced from Ukraine
You would like to apply for a residence permit as a person in Denmark who is displaced from Ukraine. You can be granted a temporary residence permit under the law on temporary residence permits for displaced persons from Ukraine (the Special Act).

The information below explains how to apply for a residence permit if you are a person in Denmark displaced from Ukraine.
You must fill in an application form and enclose documentation. It is a good idea to gather the documentation before you start.

You, who apply for a residence permit, need to fill in the application. If you have children under 18 years who also wish to apply, you must inform this in your application. You do not need to make separate applications for the children.
The application form includes detailed instructions for how to fill it in and which types of documentation you can attach.
If you want to resume filling in an application form online select ‘Start online application’. Once you are logged in, select ‘Continue a previously saved application’.
If you would like to make changes to an application after you have submitted it, you need to contact the Immigration Service. You do not need to submit a new application. Contact the Immigration Service
We encourage you to use the digital application form. It adapts according to your answers and is automatically send to the Immigration Service, when you have submitted it.
You can also print out and submit the application form. You can fill in the application form in Word format on your computer before printing it out. The application form is also available as a PDF file that can be printed out and filled in by hand.

When you have submitted the application, you have the right to stay in Denmark while the case is processed.
It is normally required that you have a valid passport. It is therefore mandatory to enter passport information in SL1 online. If you do not have a valid passport or other travel identification, but still wish to apply, you can use the paper-based application form. In the online form, you can also enter arbitrary characters under passport information (e.g. passport number 111) and state this under comments at the end of the application.

When you have fulfilled the application you must book an appointment to have biometric features recorded and be identity checked at the Danish Immigration Service' Citizen Service. You can book an appointment on this page.
The deadline for having biometric features recorded is 14 days from the time you submitted your application.
When you show up at the Immigration Service’s Citizen Service you must bring your receipt for the digital application and have your biometrics recorded. If you wish to use the paper based form you must bring the fulfilled application form, when you show up at Citizen Service to have your biometrics recorded.
Children must also show up
If you have children, applying concurrently with you it is very important that the children are with you, when you show up at the Citizen Service, because an identity check must be made on the children. Therefore, you must bring the children’s passports or other identity documents.
Children under the age of 18 who are living with the custody holder in Denmark do not normally need a residence card. A child can, however, request to be issued a residence card. If the children request a residence card, the children must also have their biometric features recorded. It can be useful for children to have a residence card when re-entering Denmark after traveling abroad. If the children have a residence card, they do not need to apply for a re-entry permit (TBT) in connection with trips abroad.
If you have previously applied for asylum
If you have applied for asylum in Denmark and have received an asylum card, or if you were registered at Centre Sandholm and have received an accommodation card, you do not need to have biometric features recorded again. Therefore, you do not have to book an appointment at the Citizen Service. You only have to submit a digital application.
